Manage Your Thoughts

Are you thinking about something?

Maybe “YES”

However, if I ask you what you’re thinking, it can be quite challenging to answer. This isn’t because you want to keep it a secret, but rather because you have numerous thoughts swirling in your mind about various topics—family, finances, work, self-doubt, and much more. With everything so tangled together, it becomes hard to pinpoint exactly what we’re thinking. This leads us to a crucial question.

Q) How to deal with different thoughts that often hijack our mind ?

These tangled thoughts expect us to waste our time on things that are not even relevant, and in return, they give us a lot of stress, overthinking, and insecurity, which is a major contributor to our bad mental health.

Let’s take a moment to recognize that we’re not alone in dealing with this challenge; in fact, 99% of people experience various thoughts each day, which is completely normal.

What truly sets us apart is the way we choose to manage those thoughts.

For example:-

It’s very difficult to find clothes in a messy almirah, but arranging it properly makes it easy to choose clothes according to your preference.

So, learn to organize your thoughts and then select which are fruitful and disregard those that are creating chaos in your mind.

We have been talking about managing thoughts, but here comes one of the important questions:-

Q) How do we manage our thoughts?

This is a simple question that naturally comes to our minds.

Let’s try to understand this with the help of another example:-

For Example:-

If we mix some useful products with a lot of garbage, what will it look like?

It is too obvious that it will look like garbage itself, and to retrieve our product, we need to put a lot of effort into removing all the trash, and then we will get our product back.

Similarly, when a multitude of thoughts crowd our minds, it feels like garbage, which not only pollutes our thoughts but also creates confusion, causing us to waste time and fight with them.

Instead, we should start making an effort to eliminate the unnecessary ones. Once we have addressed this, we will be left only with the essential thoughts.

After understanding all this, our mind can get stuck at one point, which is:-

Q) If this is so easy, then why don’t we do this?

This can be explained with two logical reasons:-

  1. First, it’s quite understandable that we don’t think in the above manner, as explained.
  2. Second, as humans, we are more inclined to seek easy resolutions, even though we know they won’t last long. However, regarding thoughts, we require our unconditional and continuous effort, which includes:
  • Patience
  • Practice
  • Consistency

For example:-

If you’re an overweight person and you want to get back in shape, you might initially try simpler methods like fasting. While these methods offer quick results, they often fail to provide long-lasting changes. When you stop fasting, it’s common to regain weight swiftly. For a more permanent solution, it’s important to commit to daily efforts that engage both your body and mind. With consistent dedication, you can achieve your health goals!

The same goes for our thoughts, because we are very much attached to our thoughts

  • Sometimes Emotionally
  • Sometimes Physically
  • Sometimes Mentally

Due to this, we cannot let go of things easily, for example:-

  1. We cannot escape our heartbreak even after many years.
  2. We don’t want to work on our physical health to host our laziness.
  3. We cannot simply give in to our bad habits just for temporary pleasure.

In all the above situations, our mind perfectly knows what is right and what is wrong, but still, we don’t want to give up the wrong ones.

CONCLUSION

Now, some people may say that it is not easy to give up so easily.

Yes, I strongly agree, and I assure you it will not be an easy thing to do because every precious gift comes at a certain price. Here, the price is your continuous efforts.

Now, some people can ask us what we are doing by telling you all this:-

The straightforward answer is that we are trying to tell you HOW our subconscious mind works when a lot of thoughts come together.

And WHY are we not able to deal with them?

Often, we fail to recognize what is happening in our lives and the factors that hinder our ability to cope. Gaining clarity on these issues can motivate us to take action. However, the harsh reality is that we alone must take initiative and fully accept responsibility for our choices.

Now, if you want to manage your thoughts, you must start believing what your mind is indicating and act accordingly.

Suppose any particular thought regarding any person, habit, or anything is wasting your time, also stopping you from moving forward, and your mind is also indicating the same based on your past experiences. In that case, it’s high time you make a decision and make a choice.

Whether you want to keep on thinking about that thought

OR

You want to execute and deal with that with your actions.
