“We should love people for what they do,

But not for what we want them to do.”

ATTACHMENT IS PAIN.” This phrase carries a heavy load of sadness, disappointment, and negativity, but isn’t it interesting that this simple statement captures a profound truth of life?

It often takes an entire lifetime for each of us to truly grasp its meaning. So, does this suggest that life is merely a collection of disappointment, sadness, and negativity?

The answer is “No.” Ultimately, it all depends on how we pursue things in life. For instance, when we find ourselves at our lowest point, we can look at it from one of two distinct perspectives.

Q)What do we think in our minds?

When we find ourselves at the lowest points in our lives or facing challenging times, we often start to hope that our loved ones will come to our rescue. This tendency arises from the strong “ATTACHMENT” we feel towards them.

As the problem worsens, we start losing faith in them simply because we expected them to help, and that pain begins to arise from that relationship.

This is what we think”, due to which we give birth to a feeling of disappointment, which then converts to a sense of sadness and brings negativity into our lives.

Q)What is the reality around these thoughts?

In reality, we are not attached to people, we are attached to the “EMOTIONAL BENEFITS” which we can retrieve from them, for example

  • Profit and Loss
  • If we are doing this, we should get back at least this much
  • Materialistic wishes

When we truly care for someone, we act out of “FEELINGS and LOVE,” without any “EXPECTATION” of receiving something in return.

I’m not suggesting we do this “INTENTIONALLY,” but rather “UNINTENTIONALLY,” we connect with the benefits represented by “EXPECTATION.” As we age, this habit of “EXPECTATION” becomes ingrained in us, heightening the pain associated with it.

It’s completely natural to “EXPECT” something in return for our efforts, but over time, this mindset can shift into a kind of trade.

WRITER’S THOUGHT

When we truly care for someone, we act out of “FEELINGS and LOVE,” without any “EXPECTATION” of receiving something in return.

It’s completely natural to “EXPECT” something in return for our efforts, but over time, this mindset can shift into a kind of trade.

When we let go of our expectations, we can release ourselves from the hurt that often comes from holding on too tightly. This is rooted in those “EMOTIONAL BENEFITS” we seek. By doing this, we can embrace the beautiful aspect of this “ATTACHMENT,” known as “LOVE,” which fills our hearts with a sense of “SATISFACTION” and invites “POSITIVITY” into our lives.

From the above discussion, we can conclude:-

“It is true that ‘ATTACHMENT IS PAIN’,
not from the People but from the Expectations we create.”
