Understand Your Thought Process

We talk a lot about thoughts and thought process. But the question arises,

Q)How should we identify our “thought process”?

At least we should know “How” and “What” we are thinking. After thinking for a long time, I found a relatable example that helps us understand our thought process. So let’s jump straight to an example.

Example:- Recently, I was passing through a grocery store, and I heard a child saying, “Mom, I want that Harry Potter kinderjoy”. That statement kept rolling around in my mind.

And when I thought about it, a question came to mind,

Q) Why did that kid ask specifically for that Harry Potter kinderjoy?

As if he wanted to buy that product just for that branding, among all the products that were there in the store.

Although there is no difference in taste due to branding, he still wanted only that one. There, I understood that advertisement is the best way to understand our thought process. But,

Q)How is this related to the thought process?

What happens is that, just by looking at the branding, children naturally connect with their favourite character and feel drawn to it. And it’s not just the kids, adults also find themselves influenced by this strategy, often without even realizing it.

That’s why various brands use this technique as part of their advertising strategy, tapping into our mindset. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing; rather, I just want to point out that

  • If brands can tap into our way of thinking for their marketing strategies, then why shouldn’t we use it to fuel our own growth?
  • If they can understand our thought process by learning and studying our reactions, then why can’t we gain insight into our own thought process by observing our various habits?

Some might argue that brands possess sufficient resources for this; however, the truth is that these resources are essential to serve a large audience. This brings up an important question.

Q)How should we do as individuals?

As individuals, we need to spend some time with ourselves.

  • A time when we can talk to ourselves.
  • A time when our thoughts peacefully surround us.
  • A time when we can observe the situation we are in.
  • A time when we can analyze how we are reacting to those situations.
  • A time when we accept our actions instead of defending them.
  • A time where we can live in the present instead of living in the past and future.

Taking some time for ourselves is essential to understand our thoughts and feelings truly. This valuable self-reflection not only helps us grow but also enables us to tackle any mental challenges we may face. Most importantly, it brings us closer to discovering the authentic version of ourselves that might still be waiting to be unveiled.

“Now, the choice is yours: whether you want to face yourself or live in an illusion without knowing your thought process. So, choose wisely…….”
